Introduction

Interns and preceptors are an integral part of the funeral services profession. This section has been designed to offer information related specifically to the training and development of interns in all aspects of funeral service.

Sample Employment Agreement

The Sample Employment Agreement has been developed to assist licensees and interns to formalize the relationship, articulate expectations and encourage better communication from the beginning of the relationship. The MS Word format may be easily modified to accommodate user needs. Information prompts highlight the areas where the user must insert pertinent information.

Licensee Support Articles

To support the profession, the BOFS makes available articles of potential interest to licensees and aspiring licensees as they relate to challenges and opportunities that may be encountered in the field. Preceptor Training Program

The Preceptor Training Program (PTP) is offered to assist with the training and development of interns. Upon completion of the program, participants are granted credit for professional development (PD) requirements. Upcoming dates are posted on the Events Calendar in the News section of this Web site.

 

Intern Outreach

The BOFS hosts Intern Outreach sessions throughout the province annually. Interns are provided with an opportunity to gather with fellow interns to share positive experiences and solutions for overcoming challenges in the workplace.
