Through collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the BOFS has updated its Form 1 Report in respect to monies held in Trust, or insurance products for consumers. All documents can be found on the BOFS website under Support Materials.
Notice to the Public
January 17, 2014 ¨C On January 16, 2014 the Licence Appeal Tribunal issued consent orders lifting the suspensions of the funeral establishment licences granted to Benisasia Funeral Home Inc., operating at 3263 Derry Road East, Mississauga, Ontario, and Benisasia Funeral Home Inc., Queen Street Chapel, operating at 1357 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario.

The consent orders provide for strict conditions, including the following:

  • The appointment of a Monitor to oversee the running of the business and its books and records, weekly visits to the funeral establishments and reports to the BOFS and establishment¡¯s owner;
  • The cost of the Monitor will be paid by the funeral establishments;
  • Rick Benisasia and the owner of the funeral establishments, Jyoti Johal, shall not have direct or indirect involvement in the management of the establishments or access to the two establishments except three times per month in the presence of the Monitor.
